Whenever you are working on a graphic designing, we have to throw a lot of cool elements. But we often forget the prime or the foremost thing that ultimately gives an excellent and wonderful look, called the white space. It is commonly known as negative spacing. Now you will ask me that, what this White Space is. Well then to answer this valuable question of yours. I would like to inform you that white space does not need an introduction, as the name suggests it all. But white space does not necessarily be white in nature.  This is derived from the vintage days of graphic designing, when almost every designing was done on white paper. It is actually the empty space between the elements of a design or a page layout. This generally includes margins, space between columns, images, spaces around graphics and space between the lines of type.

Now you will ask me, that why is this White Space important? Well then to answer specifically, then I would like to inform you that, though White Space is technically nothing but just a white blank space, we should give the prime importance to it. If you are designing a web page, which is stuffed with really good stuffs, but they are not spaced properly, then it will be simply a waste of time. While designing a web page, it should be kept in mind that, every single space costs heavy. So it is strictly advised to maintain a proper spacing in the web page. But still, if you like to leave more spacing in the web pages, then it will prove that, you are too concerned about the neatness, cleanliness and the look of a web page, and least concerned about the cost.
Now, if you ask me about the benefits of the white space, then I would like to put some of the benefits of white space below. They are as follows:
ü  Excellent Clarity, with better readability
ü  Comfortable reading experience
ü  A typical professional look
ü   Prime focus over the context
ü  Proper separation for prime elements
ü  Excellent overall appearance
Many famous branded companies like Apple, Google leave ample spacing in their respective websites to make it look attractive and classy. These types of websites receive a lot of traffic compared to a normal website. Though on a smaller level, white space plays an important role when it comes to design, formatting and usability of a web page. Leaving extra white space in a particular website makes the content stand out and easily comprehensive. There are no particular rules on spending white spaces. You should always try to make your web page unique. Accordingly your cost will vary with each design. At the end of the day, to get it right you just have to try it again and again, perform some trial and error methods till you get it right and then incorporate it on the web page for a clean, stylish look.
